At SnowDragon Wines we believe that a wine palate is as unique as a snowflake or a leafy sea dragon. These tasting notes describe the winemakers opinion, but we want you to ‘Taste the Dragon’ and decide for yourself.
Dark, ripe and full of flavour the ‘08 blend is a tantalising taste of what is to come……..
The Growing season leading up to the 2008 vintage started well but finished with a great burst of heat in March. Fortunately our shiraz and cabernet sauvignon ripens very early and we harvested the grapes before the heat struck. True to the region and this award winning vineyard, the grapes were dark and flavoursome.
After fermentation, the wine was matured in seasoned French, American and Hungarian oak for just over 18 months. The wine has developed into a dark, ripe fruit-forward wine with layers of flavour and bouquet. The palate is soft and very flavoursome. Finish is long and sweet with a hint of alcohol heat.
Like all the previous wines from the SnowDragon vineyard, it will develop gracefully in bottle but it is wonderful to drink now.
